June 2022 Showcase
This year’s event was celebrated in June, and there were a host of great speakers and topics covered. The topic was partnering with others for student’ success. My proposal on “Employer School Partnerships: Investing in A Stronger Workforce” was accepted and, along with my co-worker John Thomas, we presented the workshop.
Here is the description of the workshop:
Employer partnerships are essential for any school. Successful programs secure partnerships with employers that invest in the programs and the students. These investments benefit the students, the school, and the employers, too, with a Return on Investment (ROI).
Businesses thrive and are future-prepared when they embrace the creation of diverse, well-educated, and well-trained talent pipelines. Working together we can create talent pipelines that are homegrown and stay local, strengthening the fiber of the communities where we live and work.
This session will illuminate:
* Four types of employer-school partnerships.
* How relationships facilitate student success as part of the workforce.
* Best practices to develop effective partnerships.
